Sound Decision was formed as a mobile DJ company in May of 2000 offering an affordable, but highly professional disc jockey service.
After managing several restaurants and gaining experience for many different types of events, Paul MacCarrick had the opportunity to work with a friend who operated a mobile DJ business. It was then, this little “hobby” took on new meaning and Paul gained a better understanding of just how important music is for every event.
Music at an event creates atmosphere! Music at an event creates emotion! The art of DJing is not jumping on the mic and telling everyone what they should be doing, the “art of DJing” is blending the style of music desired by those organizing the event, with the needs of guests attending to develop a enjoyable moment for everyone.
Fast forward, it’s now been over 15 years providing music for many different types of events, both private and corporate. Although we’ve done our share of school dances, reunions, anniversaries and semi formals, we’ve found that wedding ceremonies and receptions offer the greatest opportunity for our talents to shine.
Sometimes (okay, almost always) photographers need a little extra time to get just the right shot, or maybe the caterer needs just a little extra time with dinner, that’s okay. We understand that our job is more than just playing a few songs, but being there as a resource that you can turn to at any time during the event to help pull things together, and if needed, put things back on schedule.
After working hundreds of weddings (all unique in their own way) the best receptions are not the ones planned out to perfection and required to follow a specific timeline, but those that have good framing for the bride and groom, the wedding party, the families and friends to enjoy themselves, enjoy the day and allow those unforgettable moments to happen!
